About The Laughing Forest

Nestled amongst coastal dune forest, we have created a personalised home environment for each Log Cabin.The six acre property is home to mpete buck, a variety of birds, monkeys and other wild life and is situated in Elysium, which is halfway between Durban and Margate on the Natal South Coast. The Admiralty Reserve and rail line separate the units from the beach. Elysium beach is private, (very private) and clean. Beach: The Elysium beach is unspoilt and has been identified by Wildlife as a protected area for the vegetation that exists on the dunes. Walking on this beach comes close to the Wild Coast experience

Golf: We are surrounded by Umdoni Golf Course, Selborne Golf Course and Port Shepstone Golf Courses. We have an onsite golf green to practice your chipping and putting and offer various Golf Packages.

Wedding Venues: Stunning Wedding Venue. Ceremony either on the beach, on a grassed terrace with stunning sea views or indoor chapel. The Reception Hall can cater for up to 200 guests and a buffet menu is available on request.

Conference Venues: Conference facilities are available.

Family friendly: The Laughing Forest will suit people that are looking for a quiet family holiday. Close proximity of the sea lends itself to family time, building sand castles, playing ball games and taking walks on the beach.

Romantic: Dinner, Bed & Breakfast. Guests are treated to a bottle of white or red wine and chocolates in the room. Candle lit dinner, with the sounds of the Indian Ocean.

Covid Safety Approved: Rooms are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized before each arrival. All cabins have hand sanitizers provided.
