The African Research House is a true gem for researchers and business professionals. Located on a hill with breathtaking views, the guest house overlooks the beautiful West Rand landscape, and is centrally located in the upmarket suburb of Kloofendal in the west of Johannesburg.

The guest house also offers accommodation to any guest looking for a comfortable short or long stay and is accessible to the four major universities, hospitals, national botanical garden, cultural and heritage sites.

The African Research House offers accommodation for a total of 12 guests in a fully furnished Main House as well as an exclusive Garden Cottage. The Main House is a double-storey house, with the ground level for the exclusive use of a maximum of 10 guests. The four downstairs bedrooms feature Victorian baths and showers. Three of the rooms also have French doors leading out onto a very spacious balcony and an entertainment area with braai facilities and a swimming pool.

The modern gourmet kitchen in the Main House may be used by guests who prefer to cook for themselves, however meals can be provided on request. There is also the option of eating out, as the house is located a mere 2 km from the Clearwater Mall which offers all sorts of upmarket restaurants that accommodate all tastes.

The exclusive outside Garden Cottage is fully furnished and contains an en-suite designer bathroom with both a bath and shower. The cottage also features an open-plan medium-size gourmet kitchen and lounge, a TV with DStv, fridge, washing machine and dryer, and a dishwashing machine.

Other facilities at the guest house include a swimming pool, Wi-Fi Internet access and laptops on hire, a braai and entertainment area, in-house dining and room service if required. Airport transfers and transport service of guests to places of interest can also be provided on request.
