This hotel is located just off the A93 from Perth and Blairgowrie to Braemar. It is an excellent base for skiing, being just 8 minutes from the Glenshee ski slopes and close enough to give the skiing at Lecht or Aviemore a go. Close to Royal Deeside and set amidst magnificent scenery, the hotel is also a good base for hillwalkers, golfers and fans of other outdoor activities. Guests will find a restaurant and pubs, in addition to links to the public transport networks, in Glenshee itself. The town of Blairgowrie, with its night club and shops is just 26 minutes' drive away. It is a 35-minute drive to Balmoral Castle, 40 minutes to Edradour (Scotland's smallest distillery), 45 minutes to the Blair Atholl Distillery and 50 minutes to Blair Castle. The sea is just about an hour's drive away at Carnoustie, and it is around the same to Perth.Renovated in 2006, this familiy-friendly ski hotel is on the site of the oldest inn in the United Kingdom and comprises a total of 54 rooms. It is known that this spot has been in continuous use since 961 AD and has had a chequered history throughout the years. It is certainly at the highest altitude, being just over 640 m above sea level. Facilities on offer to guests include a lobby area with a 24-hour reception, a hotel safe, a cloakroom, a café, a bar and a pub. It also offers a games room, a TV lounge and a restaurant. There are conference facilities, and guests may also take advantage of WLAN Internet access.
