Situated just 3km from the capital, Victoria, Marsalforn, once a small fishing village, is now Gozo's most popular seaside resort particularly with families from Gozo and Malta who have summer homes here. The attractive promenade runs round the head of the bay, providing a pleasant place to stroll and is a traditional summer evening gathering place for local families and visitors alike. There is a small sandy and pebbly beach and the rocks along each side of the bay provide plenty of additional space for sunbathing, swimming and snorkelling. Marsalforn is an ideal base for diving enthusiasts, who can choose from a variety of diving schools and dive sites or you can opt for a boat cruise around Gozo or to the island of Comino. The area is popular for both coastal and country walking. The village is also well served with a good choice of restaurants and bars and three supermarkets.
