Shanks Farmstay offers comfortable and beautiful accommodation situated just outside of Steynsburg, off the R56. This is a small town nestled in a ring of mountains and hills.The farm offers two relaxed rooms with lovely garden surroundings. ★★★★★ Shanks farm is our favourite stopover on the way to the coast. The farm is in a beautiful part of the country and Maureen is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Room is very clean and comfy and well-equipped and there are many thoughtful little details like the delicious home made rusks. There was loadshedding while we were there and we woke to find a flask of boiling water on our door step!

★★★★★ We stayed at Shanks Farmstay for one night only on our way from Gauteng to Jeffreysbay. We could have stayed longer as the family room is well equipped and Maureen went out of her way to demonstrate Karoo hospitality. This was the first stay at Shanks and definitely not the last!

★★★★★ Lovely garden with place for children to play. Very helpful and caring hostess. The only advice I would give is to suggest that a top sheet be supplied when weather is hot as a duvet is a bit too warm

★★★★★ We only stayed 1 night, but were met with great hospitality. Our room was spacious, comfortable and warm which was great as it was freezing outside. We were provided with a delicious evening meal, which all of us including my 6 and 8 year girls old loved! The highlight for my girls was definitely playing with the dogs in the morning. Would definitely stay there again.
