About Savoy Hotel Kimberley

Savoy Hotel is one of Kimberley's oldest and most enchanting hotels. the hotel opened for the first time on 1 September 1897. It has lived through the diamond heydays, was re-built in 1901, and soon proved to be the best hotel in the city, as is still the case today.

In 1921 the Savoy Hotel was again upgraded, and as reported in the Diamond Fields Advertiser on Friday, 6 May 1921, So vast are the improvements made that one is at a loss adequately to describe them.

At the Savoy Hotel you will have a pampered stay with excellent cuisine and quality rooms. Kimberley is the provincial headquarters for the Northern Cape and is situated in the centre of South Africa. It is well-known worldwide for its diamond history, which the Big Hole illustrates. The hotel offers 45 Standard Rooms with en-suite bathrooms.

Wedding Venues: The Diamond Room can cater for weddings for up to 200 people. We can erect a dance floor and a stage for your wedding. Contact us for a detailed quotation.

Conference Venues: We have a total of 13 dedicated conference venues. The biggest one, the Diamond Hall caters for up to 200 people banqueting style.

Clean and value for money, although we stayed on a Saturday night and there are two very noisy nightclubs: one is part of the hotel; and the other across the road.Staff friendly, except we arrived at 13:10 to be told check in was 14:00. We thought fair enough, until we discovered later that this 60 room hotel was almost empty.
