Renaissance Jaragua Hotel & Casino enjoys a spacious and inviting setting, set back from the boulevard amid broad lawns and a long looping driveway. It was constructed in 1988. It is difficult to downplay the dazzle here, which extends into every nook and cranny of these six landscaped hectares, from the waterfall hydraulics and the vast pool to the casino, one of the largest in the Caribbean.Renaissance Jaragua Hotel & Casino's spacious atrium lobby is entered through automatic smoked-glass doors. It provides a dramatic introduction, with its gleaming granite floors, cubist and cantilevered post-deco architecture and zigzagging wood-paneled reception counter. The color scheme, however, leaves something to be desired, being the same slightly insipid green and beige combo of public arenas throughout the hotel, and a dearth of chairs is another drawback.
