At Mountain Shadows, we are proud of the surrounding beauty of our region with its breathtaking nature, rich cultural heritage, and wonderful wine and culinary experiences. We are passionate about life, food, and wine, and are enthusiastic about sharing it with our guests.

We offer culinary wine tours for small groups of up to 20 guests, designed to meet the specific needs and desires of our guests. Our tours include visits to a number of award-winning wine estates nearby where guests can enjoy wine tastings, educational talks on the wine-making process, and cellar tours. Mountain Shadows is also within close proximity to several leading olive estates in South Africa, where guests can enjoy sampling olive products including olive oils, table olives and tapenades, as well as tours of the olive groves and talks on the olive farming process.

There are also numerous activities to keep you entertained while at Mountain Shadows - take part in our cooking classes and demonstrations, take a stroll amongst our vineyards or along the river that borders the estate where you can view the abundant birdlife, try your hand at fly-fishing in our bass dam, improve your handicap on our own 6-hole golf course, or play at one of the international championship courses nearby. Play a game of lawn croquet or petanque, or simply lounge by the pool with a good book and a glass of fine wine while you soak up the sun and the tranquillity of our estate.

Great food prepared daily using only the freshest local ingredients, combined with fine wines from neighbouring cellars, will ensure that your stay at Mountain Shadows will be an unforgettable experience.
