Magoebaskloof Birders’ Cottages are located on Dragonwyck Farm in the Magoebaskloof on the edge of the Limpopo Drakensberg escarpment. Accommodation comprises two self-catering cottages surrounded by indigenous plants providing the ideal habitat for many birds and animals. The cottages are accessed by a 2 km dirt road. Magoebaskloof Birders’ Cottages are located on Dragonwyck Farm in the Magoebaskloof on the edge of the Limpopo Drakensberg escarpment. Accommodation comprises two self-catering cottages surrounded by indigenous plants providing the ideal habitat for many birds and animals. The cottages are accessed by a 2 km dirt road. The road is not suitable for low profile cars or drivers who are unaccustomed to dirt roads.

Trogon has two entirely separate fully self contained units: Narina Cottage and Trogon Cottage (the original Trogon Cottage). This arrangement is ideal for two couples travelling together but would prefer their accommodation to be separate. Can be booked by a single couple.

Robin Cottage is a two bedroom unit but can be booked by a single couple. Robin Cottage can accommodate 6 guests. Cost is calculated per person, minimum 2 guests. It comprises 2 bedrooms, a sitting room, a bathroom, a kitchen and an additional private outdoor double bath, shower and toilet. The second bedroom has a double bed on the mezzanine level and two single beds on the lower floor. Robin has a splash pool.

Both cottages have hot water is supplied by a wood-burning stove. All linen and towels are provided in both cottages. Each cottage unit has a fully equipped kitchen with a gas stove, fridge-freezer, microwave, and barbecue facilities. The cottages are no-smoking zones and smokers are kindly requested to smoke outside. Unfortunately no pets are allowed.

Dragonwyck Farm is a working farm producing avocados and indigenous plants. Various walks can be enjoyed on the farm which follow the streams and provide access to escarpment forest. Woodbush Forest, one of the premier birding spots in South Africa, is also a short drive away and there are a number of scenic drives in the district for excellent bird watching opportunities. Fishing and adventure activities are available in the Haenertsburg area.
