Important Information
Due to thick sand and road conditions the camp can only be accessed by 4x4 vehicles and guests should have experience of driving in thick sand.
All self-drivers to camp must have a confirmed reservation prior to arriving in camp. Self-drivers are welcome to partake in camp activities/drives but may not do self-drives within a 3 km radius of camp – i.e. within the private area of the camp.
Neither Wilderness Adventures nor the staff of Kalahari Plains camp are responsible for self-drive guests reaching camp. Accordingly all self-drive guests should ensure they have all information, equipment and necessities to reach their destination. All self-drive guests in Botswana should travel with and be experienced in the use of a GPS as well as ensuring they have a satellite phone which is fully charged at all times.
On arrival at the National Park gate, guests should sign the Kalahari Plains entrance book to be eligible for the discounted certified “Operators” rate associated with Kalahari Plains camp. All National Park fees are to be paid in camp and are calculated on a per person and per vehicle entrance rate, not per night.
