The cottage has a Queen Anne wood stove, wall heaters, electric blankets and hot water bottles to keep guests warm during the frosty months. There is a ceiling fan for the occasional hot day.

The cottage has tea and coffee-making facilities with home-made biscuits as well as a small fridge and a microwave. Included in the price of accommodation is a delicious three-course farm style breakfast. There is a portable braai for guests to make use of. The cottage has a wide range of books and DVDs as well as a radio and DVD player. There is a TV in the cottage. Children under the age of 12 stay free of charge, but pay a small charge for breakfast on arrival.

Hogsback is a small town high located in the mountain, surrounded by centuries-old indigenous Afromontane forests. There are many art galleries and shops for guests to visit. Guests can enjoy horse riding, birding and mountain biking.
