Gelukshoop Cottage Tankwa is a charming self-catering cottage, located on Gelukshoop Farm which is a working sheep and game farm, and offers a great breakaway in the Onder-Karoo or succulent Karoo. Gelukshoop Cottage Tankwa is a charming self-catering cottage, located on Gelukshoop Farm which is a working sheep and game farm, and offers a great breakaway in the Onder-Karoo or succulent Karoo.

The farm is situated approximately 60km from the Tankwa National Park and 58km from Sutherland. Set on a 3000-hectare farm, the comfortable cottage can accommodate up to four guests. The cottage contains two bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen, a dining area, a living room, and a boma. The first bedroom contains a double bed, and the second bedroom contains two single beds. The bathroom contains a shower and hand wash basin, the toilet is seperate with hand wash basin. The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering with a two-plate gas stove, an open fireplace and a fridge. A freezing facility is available. Hot water is generated by means of a 'donkey' furnace, and the cottage electricity is produced through solar power. The boma contains a well equiped braai area. Firewood for the donkey is supplied. Guests are encouraged to bring braai wood as limited wood is available on the farm.

There is a cement dam close to the cottage with fresh borehole water continiously pumped in by windmills for swimming and relaxing under a tree. Two other cement dams on the farm can also be used for swimming.
