About Foster's Manor
Foster’s Manor (Ostrich Feather Palace), build in 1904, is an establishment of South Cape TVET College. Charles Bullock, the great British sandstone architect, was the creator of the building. James Alexander Foster, a local attorney, instructed Bullock to design a double-storey mansion for him. Foster called the mansion ‘Rus in Ubre’, formally known as Foster’s Folly and later renamed Foster’s Manor. The Manor is a National Monument and has recently been restored to its former glory. Check-in / Check-out
Check-in is from 14h00 until 18h30 on the day of arrival. No late arrivals permitted. If you cannot arrive within these times, we unfortunately cannot accommodate you. Checkout is by 10h00 on the day of departure. All extras are to be settled prior to departure.
Terms and Conditions
We find ourselves in unprecedented times and we need to adapt to the new norm with the following changes. Please read the below carefully:
1. Check-in time is between 14h00 and 18h30. No late arrivals permitted.
2. Check-out time is before 10h00.
3. No firearms allowed on the property without prior arrangement with management.
4. No loud noise after 22h00. Please respect other guests.
5. No visitors allowed in guest rooms.
6. All rooms are equipped with a kettle with coffee & tea, a Tv with selected DSTv channels an Aricon and a small fridge.
8. Please switch off all air conditioners when not in use or when leaving the room.
9. Breakfast is served between 07h30 and 10h00. Earlier breakfast (07h00) can be arranged prior to arrival.
10. Please note this is a non-smoking establishment. Please use the facilities on your room’s balcony.
11. Please note the guesthouse is situated on the main street which may be noisy at night.
12. Fidelity security patrols the ground of the manor at night.
13. Please keep your room door and the main entrance door locked for your safety.
