We overlook the mighty Umzimvubu River Mouth and Long Beach and offer rustic but very clean and spacious Self-Catering Chalets. We provide night guards for our guests’ peace of mind. We overlook the mighty Umzimvubu River Mouth and Long Beach and offer rustic but very clean and spacious Self-Catering Chalets. We provide night guards for our guests’ peace of mind. Ferry Point Resort offers guests Chalets that can accommodate between three and eight guests. WE ARE GREEN! Our main energy source is Solar power with gas appliances. That is, two plate gas stoves, gas fridge/freezers and whistle stove top kettle. No microwaves are provided to suit our low energy usage.The units offer comfortable double or single beds and private bathrooms. We provide white linen as bedding but guests need to bring their own towels. The kitchens are equipped with all the necessary cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils. Each unit also has a private braai area and own parking. There are no TVs. There is daily housekeeping. Locals frequently come to your Chalet selling crayfish, muscles, oysters and fish. Each Chalet offers stunning views of the river, sea, lighthouse, mountains and the night lights of the town across the river. Daily housekeeping is provided.The motorized ferry boat whips you across the river into town in minutes so you do not have to drive to peruse shops and restaurants, at a very cheap fee. There is much to do especially if you are an outdoorsy person....hiking, fishing (which is good throughout the year), mountain biking, sightseeing, mudcaves, waterfalls, whale and dolphin watching, bird watching (over 250 bird species), collecting driftwood and eating out. Long beach, on our doorstep literally, is very safe for walking, fishing or collecting driftwood.We look forward to making you a part of our family!
