In 1980, the Rattray family bought Fairview - a 68-acre headland at The Crags between Plettenberg Bay and Nature’s Valley. It was named after its extraordinary outlook over the Keurbooms Forest and into several mountain ranges. Built by David Rattray’s parents for their retirement, it was here that David’s mother, Gillian, wrote two of her books - A Cape Country Chronicle and In a Country Garden.
