About Dombeya Game Reserve, Mkhiweni Lodge

Set in the rolling hills of a beautiful game reserve, this private, self-catering Lodge is a wonderful and peaceful retreat in the bushveld. Guests can take a stroll to a nearby wildlife watering hole.... relax by the pool with sundowners...or go for an early morning game drive or birdwalk- this is a lovely spot to enjoy nature, up-close!

The Lodge is located in Dombeya Wildlife Estate and Game Reserve. We are about 45 minutes from the Malkerns tourist hub and 1 hour from Mbabane.

Guests rent the entire Lodge, which sleeps a total of 4 people, and enjoy a private pool, outdoor braai/bbq and have access to the entire Reserve. We provide all linens, pool towels, firewood and basic tea/coffee. The Lodge has air conditioners in the bedrooms, as well as a big, wrap-around verandah.

We have over 30 kilometres of gravel game drive roads, 4 wildlife watering holes, 10 kilometres of walking trails, and you often see herds of wildlife from the verandah of the Lodge. We have a second Lodge within one kilometre if you have a bigger group- this also sleeps four (Shonalanga Lodge), please enquire for additional details. Please note that the closest grocery stores are in Manzini, and guests need their own transport to visit the Reserve.

Safari: This is a unique experience in Eswatini ... you can explore the Reserve from the privacy of your own vehicle, or on foot. It is wonderful to watch wildlife on your own, quiet and relaxed terms.

Family friendly: Mkhiweni Lodge is wonderful for families! With a private pool and the entire Wildlife Reserve to explore on foot or in a car, this is a fabulous safari destination for families.

Romantic: Mkhiweni Lodge is extemely private- wake up to the sounds of nature, and enjoy a glass of wine from your verandah, while watching herds of zebra and impala graze nearby.
