This picturesque town is the third oldest town in South Africa and is dominated by the second largest granite outcrop in the world. It was these granite boulders glistening in the sun after rain that inspired Abraham Gabbema, in 1657, to name the mountain "the Diamond and Pearl Mountain" from which the name Paarl was later derived.

All of our 17 comfortable en-suite rooms have panoramic views over Paarl Mountain or Paarl Valley. Relax at our swimming pool and share the space with wonderful bird life. Enjoy our delicious full buffet breakfast which is served in our sun-splashed dining room with spectacular views over the pool between 07h00 and 10h00 daily. A light lunch menu is available on request, but should you prefer to have a good old-fashioned South African braai, contact our friendly reception staff to enquire about the braai packs on offer from the hotel. There are many excellent restaurants in close proximity to the hotel and our friendly staff will be more than happy to assist you with dinner arrangements. In-house dining is available for functions and groups of 10 or more by prior arrangement only.

Come and taste magnificent locally produced wines, cheese, olives and oils on nearby farms. Paarl boasts a wonderful range of restaurants which, combined with our wines, can offer you a unique dining experience. The Purple Lounge is a well-stocked bar and opens out to the pool deck overlooking the large pool. The wine lovers can try our very own white and red wines or a bottle of Pierre Jourdan bubbly. You can also enjoy one of our delicious cocktails or ask the barman to mix your favorite combination while you relax and watch the world go by.

Play golf at the world-class 27 hole Boschenmeer Golf Estate or at the Pearl Valley Golf Course designed by Jack Nicklaus. For the more adventurous, there are numerous mountain biking, hiking, and 4x4 trails in the near vicinity.

Our newly established wine cellar is the perfect venue for private functions and meetings and can accommodate up to 14 delegates at an impressive four-metre long boardroom table. There is comfortable seating and a 50 inch Smart TV surrounded by an impressive display of top privately owned wines. A comfortable lounge area with a Grand Piano and an intimate dining area are the finishing touches to this very impressive venue.

With its large screen TV and surround sound, our 12-seater cinema is the ideal venue for sports enthusiasts to get together with friends and watch their favourite team while enjoying an ice cold beer in comfort, or relaxing and watching a movie on DVD. We do have a selection of DVDs available from reception but you are more than welcome to bring your own along.
