DeVosRus is located in a quiet part of Kathu. Kathu is a leafy, iron mining town in the Northern Cape. The town is popular for traveller’s en-route to Kimberley. This guest house has six spacious rooms, all beautifully furnished and well-equipped. Each room has a double bed, some of the rooms have a double bed and three quarter bed in it, a large open shower, a fridge, a TV with full DSTV package, uncapped WI-fi, an air-conditioner, a microwave oven, the rooms are equipped for heat and eat, a kettle, iron and iron board on request, a work desk and an outside sitting area. Every room has its own geyser. The guest house do have takeaway menus in all the rooms, guests can pay them via card or cash, they do deliver food at the guest house. Parking area - There is a motorized, not see through gate and under cover parking on the premises. There are CCTV Cameras on and around the premises. Load shedding is no problem, as the guest house is equipped with a big enough generator to make sure guests can still enjoy all the amenities. Guests are welcome to use the 11metre, 70 000 l swimming pool or relax next to the koi pond which is filled with a variety of imported koi.

With our national electricity grid under constant pressure, DeVosRus management decided to upgrade our backup generator. In December 2019 a new generator was installed at DeVosRus. With this generator we now have almost double the electrical capacity that we normally have when connected to the national grid. The old backup generator will now serve as a backup in case something should go wrong with the new generator. Guests can continue to use all electrical appliances during loadshedding no need for compromises.
