About Copperleigh Trout Cottage

Copperleigh Trout Cottage is a beautiful, modern self-catering holiday home built overlooking the calm waters of Mavela Dam, a fly fisherman's dream. It is also not far from the popular Midlands Meander and Midmar Dam. The two-story cottage is located on our fully functioning sheep and cattle farm. The open-plan lounge, fully equipped kitchen and dining room are located on the ground floor as is the garage and guest toilet. Enjoy complimentary DSTV Premium and WiFi. A complimentary bundle of firewood is provided daily (more can be purchased from management).

There are three bedrooms upstairs (2 with queen size beds which can sleep 2 adults each and feature electric blankets, ceiling fans and hairdryers; the loft room has a queen size bed & a bunk bed suitable for 4 kids sharing). The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom featuring a shower, toilet & heated towel rail. The second bathroom has a shower and toilet and is shared between the 2nd & 3rd bedrooms. All linens and bath towels are provided. Housekeeping daily.

Free access to Mavela Dam from the cottage garden should you wish to go trout fishing, please bring your own fly fishing equipment and swimming towels for use at the dam. Some scenic walks available on the farm, stunning country scenery including Inhlosane Mountain. Kayak with paddles and life jackets are free for guests to use. *Please note that we can't accommodate any pets.

Please also have a look at our new deluxe log cabin: "Copperleigh Trout Cabin" which is a great option for a couple sharing or a small family.

Family friendly: Our sheep & cattle farm is fun for kids especially during sheep feeding times. Big dam to swim in or go fly fishing, kayak, large garden to play in, books to read, board games, large selection of movies to watch and more!

Romantic: Snuggle up on a comfy sofa whilst sitting next to the large fireplace - or during those long hot summer days relax on the wooden deck overlooking Mavela Dam and enjoy the sunsets.
