An African name meaning ‘life and hope’, Ashia lies nestled at the foot of the dramatic Drakenstein mountains, providing the perfect setting for the sanctuary’s conservation and environmental education programmes. Founded to help to prevent the further decline of the cheetah population, Ashia's supports conservation initiatives through its efforts to release captive-born cheetahs back into the protected wild.

Luxurious accommodation offers guests the opportunity to experience farm life first-hand. Guests and day visitors alike can refresh and eat at the Café with its sweeping views over the Drakenstein mountains, browse through the extensive selection of high end gifts and memorabilia in the Boutique Shop, or explore the beauty and diversity of the farm on foot.

Various other opportunities are offered such as watching cheetah runs, volunteer programmes (including ‘volunteer for a day’), research projects, working holidays and internships. Ashia is a not-for-profit undertaking – all funds raised go back into our cheetah conservation project. Ashia adheres to all FTT safety protocols and has a strict no-touch policy for guests with all cats; regretfully no children under the age of 16 years are allowed at the sanctuary.

Ashia also offers the opportunity to contribute in aiding conservation initiatives through its volunteer programmes, working holidays and research/ internship programmes.
