Awelani Lodge is set on a 1,700-acre conservation area and offers visitors the opportunity to hike through a woodland conservation area or ride a mountain bike. Accommodation is offered in six two-bedroom cabins, one chalet, five standard rooms and eight safari tents. Each room has an en-suite bathroom or access to a shared bathroom and access to self-catering facilities. The lodge has a restaurant with a bar providing basic meals, braai facilities, a swimming pool, selected DStv channels, Wi-Fi and on-site parking. The lodge also has a large venue for functions such as conferences, weddings and parties. Full catering, a bar and function room services are also available.

Groups can also book a braai in a nearby cave in advance. Guests have access to laundry on-site, but it is not self-catering. Cellphone and data communication is very poor and absent in places, and the lodge receives electricity from Eskom. Guests can walk in nature to see small animals and birds and there are magnificent baobab trees and local Bushman drawings. Awelani is ideally located for day visitors to visit the northern part of the Kruger National Park, for travellers who cross the border and those who visit the northern parts of Limpopo.
