Day 1
You are welcomed at the airport and transported to the 5 star Saltycrax Backpackers in Blouberg. The hostel is within walking distance from all bars, restaurants, the beach, shops and transport terminals. Bloubergis famous for kitesurfing, water sports and its amazing views of Table Mountain.
For the rest of your day you can go down to the famous Kite Beach to capture some great views of Table Mountain, sip a cocktail, get lunch or take a stroll on the beach. At night a traditional South African meal is cooked on the fire. This is a great opportunity to meet new people from around the world.
Day 2 and 3
After a good night’s sleep it’s time to learn how to scuba dive. Your friendly local guide will give you a brief lesson on using Cape Town’s public transport and will accompany you to the nearest bus terminal that will get you to the diving school where you will have formal lectures as well as tutorials on video.
In the afternoons you will practice what you have learnt in the only custom-made heated dive pool in Cape Town. Breakfast included.
Day 4
After two days of studying, it’s time to test what you have learnt. Before the final exam, you will have your first sea dive on which qualified instructors will assist you. It is important to note that the course is built on the concept of performance-based learning and is not time-based. Students are not forced to progress according to the clock. Instead, they are allowed to progress at their own pace until they demonstrate their water skills with comfort and confidence. Breakfast included.
Day 5
Today you explore the ocean bottom on your final day of diving the beautiful waters of Cape Town. After your last day of diving, you will arrive back at the backpackers where you can share your stories from the past few days over a drink with the other guests. If you want to, you can venture off to explore Table Views nightlife. Breakfast included.
Day 6
Go down to the beachfront to enjoy your last views of Table Mountain. If you are heading somewhere else later in the evening, go to reception to enquire about what to do on your last day (own expense). Breakfast included
