Important Information
Not included in package: Travel/transport, airport or other transfers, purchases from the bar, purchases from Ezulwini Billy’s Lodge Curio Shop, Balule Nature Reserve Entrance Fee*. Fee is to support conservation & anti-poaching measures and is *R100 per person and R50 per vehicle - each way), and Staff Gratuities.
Payment Policy
Ezulwini Lodges require a 50% deposit prior to arrival, and then the rest of the outstanding amount 14 days before arrival. On your arrival at Ezulwini Lodges, at Check-In, we will require a valid credit card and a pre-authorisation payment will be taken to ensure that the transaction can be validated. The actual payment will not be taken until the end of your stay. We reserve the right to take legal action if payment is not made in
full and final settlement of your bill.
Important information – if you do wish to self-drive you must ensure that you plan your journey to arrive at the Balule Gate no later than 16.30 pm during the winter and 18.00 pm during the summer months.
Malaria
Ezulwini Lodges are in a low risk malaria area and generally guests are encouraged to spray with insect repellent at sunset when mosquitoes are most active. However, the decision to take malaria pills is a personal one.
Yellow Fever
Due to the high incidents of yellow fever and other infectious illnesses in other countries, the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) South Africa has introduced a strict programme to control the importation of these diseases. Warnings have been issued to all border officials and foreign affairs missions to enforce stricter control.
Travel/Medical Insurance
We do recommend that you look at taking out travel/medical insurance. If you are booking your flights with a credit card, your card provider may also have this as part of their terms and conditions
for you; many credit card companies have their own travel insurance which is free of charge to their card holders, so I would suggest contacting them.
Currency
The currency unit is the Rand (ZAR), denoted by the symbol R, with 100 cents making up R1 (one Rand). Foreign currency can be exchanged at local banks and Bureaux de Change – and also at Ezulwini Lodges.
Credit Cards
Visa and MasterCard are widely accepted throughout the country. American Express and Diners are less widely accepted. Please note that many lodges do not take American Express cards.

Most banks are open Mondays to Fridays 09am – 3:30pm and Saturdays from 8:30am – 11am.
VAT
The VAT rate is 14% and is levied on most products and services.
